We recently updated our website to support the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that went into effect on 25 May 2018.
This regulatory change impacts any company that operates in the EU and/or handles the personal data of EU citizens, which ultimately means that it affects companies (and people) across the globe. The standards outlined in the GDPR strengthen and expand EU citizens’ rights to the privacy and security of their personal data. The GDPR also identifies new requirements for businesses that process that personal data, specifically depending on how the business interacts with the data (as a data controller or as a data processor).
A data controller “controls” how and why data is processed. A data processor “processes” data on behalf of the controller. LeanSentry interacts with data in both of these roles; we process application data on our customers’ behalf, and we control the personal data that is provided to us by our customers. We reviewed our safety protocols to make sure that your data is safe.
We have also introduced changes to ensure that all of our customers can exercise the personal data rights identified by the GDPR. We have updated our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, and we have formalized processes for customers to access, modify, restrict, and delete their personal data. Our product update content will only be sent to those customers who specifically request it, and customers have the option to request or unsubscribe to that content at any time. We have also confirmed GDPR compliance with all of our third party vendors who have access to the personal data in our care.
You can learn more about these changes and how to manage your privacy settings in our FAQ.
LeanSentry has redoubled our commitment to data privacy through this process, and we are excited to offer these rights to all of our customers.
